1. new beginning - even though technically, nothing is changing except for the last number of a date (12' to 13'), the symbolic change is huge (at least in my mind). a new year is literally a new beginning. and how often do we really start get those (hint hint: once a year!). i love the idea of this because it gives me a chance to reflect and think about how a. lucky i am to be doing what i am doing b. what i could be doing in a better or more positive way. i'm also quite enamored by the idea of starting afresh. there's something amazing about that. like there are a million possibilities and you just have to capture them.
2. new fashion - i feel like now that it's a new year, i should set a couple of fashion and beauty related goals. to try a bold lip color, or a quirky hairstyle, or just step out of my comfort zone in terms of styles i like to wear. being open to new ideas is essential in my eyes. if it wasn't for that, i would've missed out on so many wonderful things i've learned over the years, thats the main reason this little mantra is always on my mind every new year.
3. new agendas/calendars - this might be my type-A, hyper-organized, list-loving personality showing but I absolutely love new agendas. cue the excessive planning. here are some options:
classic Moleskine in fun colors.
cannot go wrong with these.
my personal favorites.
find it here.
MayBooks is a great choice as well.
their agendas are completely customizable (as seen above).
and monogram-able! a total win.
find them here.
other options could also include -
make your own agenda. it's a simple enough winter project.
all you'd need is some crafting supplies (glue/adhesive, various fabric or stones, and a notebook/diary to glam up) and imagination!
use your phone/tablet - i have to admit, as much as i love putting pen to paper, most of the time i am an avid gmail calendar user. it's nice to not only have it written down but also backed up on your phone, with a reminder, just in case.
whatever you choose, just make sure it's comfortable for you, AND something you can stick too.
it takes a number of days to repetitively do a task before it sticks as a habit. so if planning or being organized is one of your goals for the new year than this is an awesome (and cute) way to get ahead.
what's your favorite thing about the new year?
xoxo,
Bella
