summer and everything in between

hello loves,
okay so i am fully aware that i have been mia for many many days and i'm sorry, but the truth is school is the most important thing right now and i hope you guys can understand that.  For a long time i wasn't sure if i wanted to continue this blog or even go forth with it but i'm feeling better and more refreshed than i have in months and i want this to be my fresh new approach.  So heres jumping back into business:

numero uno: Beyond the Rack - okay so this is literally my fab find of the day, i haven't bought anything yet but there are a number of gorgeous baubles that i am eyeing.  basically the site is a members only site that allows you to get designer goods (clothes, handbags, accessories, even housewares) for up to 70% off. Sounds pretty awesome to me, here's a link to join if your interested: (and yes it is free) http://www.beyondtherack.com/member/invite/B5766490

numero dos: Aldo Flash Sales - this is whats up for all you shoe fanatics! these are fantastic, all you have to do is once again sign up for free and they'll send you emails when they are having the sale, which typically last a day or two and you could save up to 70% off.  Its currently flats! So grab what you want while they are hot of the presses:

my personal favorite from all the flats offered has to be:
Magen $22.49 It's fun and flirty, the print screams summer to me and even looks a bit Missoni-esque no?
and

Glauberman $24.98 which i can see looking fab with a fun colored pleated skirt and neutral top as well as an easy way to polish off any ensemble.

numero tres: this site - the site is super adorable and i just found it today, i am already in LOVE with the pictures given for all the different outfits which are reasonably priced.  If you just want to check out a fun site with very CUTE clothes, i suggest this one :)

numero quatro: (isn't my spanish great haha) WHOWHATWEAR blog now this is one of the best blogs i've read in a long time, and it doesn't involve reading so much as ogling gorgeous clothes and scanning very editorial like spreads for whats new in fashion.  Highly Recommend.

Finally I'd like to say that blogging for me has been an extra ordinary experience and for anyone out there who reads my blog i hope you've enjoyed it as well! I will definitely try to keep up with this over the summer at the very least!

xoxo,
Bella

p.s. i know this is old news but Blake Lively for Chanel is one of my all time favorite campaigns, she completely embodies the carefree Mademoiselle style.  absolutely j'adore.

Drugstore Deals: Sally Hansen+OPI

Daune Reade is so on top of the whole beauty scene right now! lol, so i stopped by once again, and they have a pretty large variety of nail polishes on sale.  Not the cheap stuff either, its mostly just O.P.I., Sally Hansen's Salon Line, and Essie.  Of course i was intrigued and had to buy something.  I purchased "Pat on the Black" from the Sally Hansen salon line and I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with it.  I tried it on with no base coat or top coat, but just the polish itself, and within two coats, it was the color inside the bottle.  I was very happy with the overall results.  Pat on the Black is a deep rich purple with dark black undertones, it looks black in some light and then purple in others, which is a lovely touch.  I have to go back and grab some more before they're gone.  There are a variety of shades available from the Sally Hansen Pro line for $3.12. 50% off. Very fair price.  As far as OPI goes, there stuff is also fifty percent off, but the shade selection is more limited.  Getting quality nail polish for $4.25 though, is a good deal, there are select shades for half off in the Essie line as well.  Here's to happy healthy nails for the new year.  [Disclaimer: Every product I review is something that i bought myself or was given to as a gift, if anything i review was sent to me by a company, i'll definitely let my readers know of it.  But seriously, my review are based on my own personal opinions, not any company's sponsorship.]

thats "pat on the black" sorry the quality is so shoddy, i couldn't find my regular camera

ps: wow sophia loren, classic.

sales&steals. MAX FACTOR review.

So i happend to wander into duane reade one day looking for that great John Frieda luxurious volume collections shampoo and conditioner, and as i was leaving i naturally wanted to leave through the makeup isle.  Lo and behold, clearance signs, 50 to 75% off.  I was floored.  Sales. LOVE.  Max Factor, an American staple in makeup, is being pushed off of US shelves.  Yes, ladies, end of a dynasty.  So STOCK UP.  The items that caught my eye were the concealer stick, 2000 calorie mascara, clear brow gel, eyeshadow trio, lipsticks, and volume couture waterproof mascara in rich black.   It's a lot of stuff i know, but it was so cheap! I purchased the eye shadow trio and the volume couture mascara, i still need to go back there and purchase a bigger haul.  But so far I'm loving the mascara, its really amazing for around $2.  And trust me, its waterproof, i had to find eye makeup remover to get it off.  Also in the voluminous department, its pretty good, nothing exceptional.  It really just excels in the separation department.  It separated every single lash, making them look like fake lashes.  Overall, recommend it.  For the price, it wont hurt to try it.  I also got an eyeshadow trio in Ravenous.  It contained a black, gilded brown, and sunflower colors.  I actually just needed a black base which was why i got that particular one.  The pigmentation is eh, but can be built up quite nicely.  I mean if you just need some random colors, this one would be a good one to pick up, they also had a trio of blues and violets which was quite lovely.  Alright so those were my opinions on the two products, please buy max factor while you still can, its really a great buy! :)

*quick addition to the last post

Nordstrom Beauty (and everything else) Markdowns:
They have some lovely gift sets from MAC, Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, and YSL on sale, favorites are:
-MAC Lip Bag ($36 to $27.90) - cute and sweet. what girl doesn't love a great pink gloss.
-MAC Lip Kit and MAC 'Miracles Happend-Viva Glam' Lip Kit ($22.50 to $17.90) - flattering reds and neutrals and pinks.

-MAC 'Love's Divine' Lash Kit ($48 to $37.90) - I made this one bigger because i find it to be the better of the deals, your getting what you pay for when it comes to eyes with this company so consider this a favorite.

-MAC Eyeshadow Palette ($36 to $27.90) - I'm slowly falling in love with this palette, the more I look at it, the more useful it is.  It has a range of colors from cool neutrals to flashy colors perfect for nighttime looks. Thumps UP.

-Bobbi Brown 'Eyes and Cheeks to Go' Set ($60 to $47.90) - good shades, and the quality is top notch. If its in your budget, try it.
-Prescriptives 'Mineral Color All Over' Collection ($45 to $30.90) - since the company is shutting down production in January this might be the last chance you have to experience the line, the colors are beautiful and your getting a pretty decent amount of product for the money, I say why not?

My only other finds at Nordstrom is there a lot of Juicy Couture on sale so if thats your forte, check it out.
Finally, here are some clothing and shoe options:
-Jessica Simpson Studded Gladiator Sandal ($128.95 to $69.90) - they're just so attention grabbing that i can't help but love them.

Theres also a great faux leather jacket called the Collection B 'Zara' Faux Leather Bomber Jacket ($28.90), its a gunmetal grey and would totally compliment any rough and tumble chic look.

The Étagère Blouson Sleeve Cardigan ($18.90) is a little flowly in the sleeves but very feminine and quite lovely.  It's a simple additive that would enhance any outfit.

Oh and the Free People Printed Strapless Knit Dress ($42.90) is a dressy way to amp a boring look, the short dress would look great paired with tights or a boyfriend blazer.

Those are all my recommendations for Nordstrom, always remember to shop with pleasure!

sale alert! :)

so here are some that are up for the week:

Sephora's 20% off already reduced sale items ends on the 31st of December, so stock up on those must have beauty items asap! (all images property of their respective owners)

They also have a bunch of great ten dollar (or under!) steals:

-Benefit Beauty To Go Bestsellers $10 is one that i'm personally trying to get my hands onto, its a great little sampler to try out some of their most beloved products before committing to buying the full sized versions.
-Stila A Couple of Crushes $10 is a lip and cheek stain combo, seeing as one tube originally sells for upwards of 20 dollars, paying ten for two is a great deal, the colors are wonderful, and seem to be very flattering tones. It's definitely one to check out.
-Nars Custard and Ginger Concealer Duo $10 is really just extremely well priced, get it if you can AND if it matches your skin tone, the label states light to medium so all you lucky L to M ladies, its worth a shot!

I've also heard a ton of good things about the Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo ($8 at Sephora-limited time!) so that's one i would definitely get if your like me and feel lazy about washing your hair every day, which by the way is bad for you (it strips essential oils straight from your roots), this stuff is supposed to work really well so if you are near a sephora, pick it up, give a try :)

Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale!  It began online a week ago but it will begin in the store January 2nd, so mark your calendars, those $3 panty and $15 bra bins are calling your name, the highlights are:

-up to 50% off of panties
-20 to 50% off of clothing
-25 to 50% off of sleep and loungewear
-40 to 60% off of PINK
There are some seriously good deals here if you need to stock up on lingerie ;) and all your other VS needs, try to go early because we all know how fast these things get cleaned out!
